Monarch Butterflies

A few weeks ago I started to raise monarch butterflies. you can find there eggs on the underside of milkweed plants. the eggs are as small as aphids and white . milkweed has oval shaped leaves its called milkweed because when you brake the stem a milky glue like substance comes poring out. after the monarch baby's are two weeks old they should be two to three inches long then they will start to climb up to make their chrysalis. The chrysalis hatch in two weeks.

  1. I love this blog. If I didn't know much about monarchs before I read it, I would know a lot after I read it. It's very informative (and I've really had a lot of fun raising them with you and I'm looking forward to doing some more raising -- of something -- next year).

  2. Wonderful! I can't wait to hear more about the monarchs... Maybe one day we can go to Michoacan Mexico together to the area where the Monarchs migrate to during the winter... in the Monarch National Park, the trees are heavy with butterflies and you even have to be careful where you step because they are everywhere...
